Now often one question that confuses us to create dutch fishtail braid is, what is the difference between simple and a dutch fishtail braid?+ so I’m going to explain it today. The Dutch fishtail braid is quite a versatile technique of braid that gives your hair a defined lift by using an underhand approach rather than a traditional fishtail. The technique is almost the same in both these styles, but in a dutch fishtail braid, you just have to create raised braid passing strands underhand of the dutch.

How to Do

Step 1

First of all, you need to remove tangles from your hair by using a paddle brush.

Step 2

Divide off the section at the front side of the head and then split it further into two pieces.

Step 3

Take a small piece of hair from the outside of the left section and then cross it underneath to merge it to the other part of the left section of the hair.

Step 4

Now you have to take a small quantity of hair from the outside of the right section and then incorporate it in the left section of the hair.

Step 5

Cross small section from the left section under the right. Take a new section from the left side of the head cross it underneath to merge it into the right side.

Step 6

Similarly, cross a small section from the right section under the left. Now pick up a new section from the right side of the head and cross it underneath by adding to the left side.

Step 7

Now repeat step 5 and step 6 to incorporate hairs to cross the rest of the sections to make a braid till it reaches to nape section.

Step 8

Now braid the rest of the section from the bottom section in a regular braid and cross a small section from the opposite side until it reaches the ending point.

Step 9

Lastly, Tie off braid using an elastic band and gently pull all the edges to make it full and smooth.
